Djokovic beats Gojo to advance to US Open quarters
NEW YORK - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the US Open quarter-finals after beating Croatian Borna Gojo 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.
Djokovic, who won after 146 minutes of play, has reached his 13th career US Open quarter-final and will next face American Taylor Fritz, who defeated Switzerland's Dominic Stricker 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

Djokovic to also play in Cincinnati doubles
CINCINNATI - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic will also be playing in the men's doubles event at this season's Cincinnati Masters tournament alongside compatriot Nikola Cacic, US media have reported.
Djokovic, who has previously announced he would be competing in the singles event at Cincinnati this season, won the singles title at the tournament in 2018 and 2020.

Alcaraz beats Djokovic in Wimbledon final
LONDON - Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has claimed the Wimbledon title by defeating Serbian Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 in the final on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Spaniard won after nearly five hours of play.
The title is his first at Wimbledon and his second career Grand Slam title as he also won the US Open last season.

Djokovic revealed his plans until the end of the season
The best Serbian tennis player thus missed the opportunity to match Roger Federer's record for the number of titles at the All England Club.
After losing in the final of the third Grand Slam of the season, Djokovic revealed his plans for the rest of the season.
Djokovic through to fifth consecutive Wimbledon final
LONDON - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to his fifth consecutive Wimbledon final after defeating Italian Jannik Sinner 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in the semi-finals on Friday.
Djokovic won after two hours and 47 minutes of play.
Novak is playing for history today
From 2:30 p.m., Djokovic will play against Italian Jannick Sinner in the Wimbledon semifinals.
Djokovic will play his 46th Grand Slam semi-final, having equaled Roger Federer's record.
And with a potential victory, he would reach the 35th Grand Slam final, surpassing the American Chris Evert and setting an absolute record of this sport in all competitions.

"At the end of the day, I don't like to think too much time about statistics," Djokovic said when told that he had just matched Roger Federer's record of Grand Slam semi-finals.
Djokovic in a position to break a new record
Novak Djokovic achieved enormous success at Roland Garros and with 23 Grand Slam titles became the most decorated tennis player in the history of the sport.
No player has more Grand Slam titles than him, but Roger Federer has more Grand Slam wins than Novak Djokovic.
