Flamenco on Istanbul stage
A show adapted for the stage from Miguel de Cervantes' immortal piece "Don Quixote" will meet with the audience on Oct. 16 at Istanbul's Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall with the performance by Spanish José Huertas Flamenco Ensemble.
Describing Don Quixote's emotional world with music and costumes reflecting Spanish folklore, the show will be staged for the first time in Turkey.

Dance moves of doctor triggers debate on social media
A debate has been triggered over reports that a Turkish doctor is being investigated after footage of her showing her dancing on a morning show went viral on social media.
Banu Küçükpolat, a cardiovascular surgeon, participated in a morning show hosted by Seda Sayan, a pop singer and a TV host.
Djangofest | Athens | September 14-15
In its 10th year, Djangofest will feature nine bands and five dance groups in a celebration of gypsy jazz music inspired by 20th-century Belgian Jean "Django" Reinhardt at the Technopolis complex in Athens' Gazi district. "Django" Reinhardt traveled through Europe performing solo and in a quintet during the World War II era.

Inspired by the life and work of the legendary Romani-French guitarist Jean "Django" Reinhardt, Djangofest Athens, now in its eighth year, celebrates all things gypsy jazz, with music concerts, film screenings, dance activities, events for children and more. The event at Technopolis is admission-free and starts at 7 p.m.

Turkish capital to mark the World Flamenco Day
Ever since UNESCO recognized flamenco as a World Heritage Treasure in 2010, Nov. 16 has been celebrated as World Flamenco Day, and Ankaraâs âMavi Sahneâ is set to organize the 2nd Flamenco Marathon on the same date this year.

Les Tziganes Ivanovitch concert for International Romani Day
