French-born Oscar winner A. Desplat credits victory to Greek roots
French-born composer Alexandre Desplat won his first Oscar after eight nominations. He gave a shout to his Greek mother from the stage. The composer's Greek mother and French father met while attending College at Berkeley though Desplat grew up in france.
