Bucharest City recording highest COVID-19 new case count: 703; counties of Timis, Iasi follow

The latest highest COVID-19 new case count has been reported by Bucharest City - 703, and the counties of Timis -159; Iasi - 110; Ilfov - 105; Brasov - 100, according to data released on Sunday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force.

GCS: 4,435 new COVID-19 cases; tests conducted in past 24 hours - 14,859

Bucharest, Dec 13 /Agerpres/ - A number of 4,435 new cases of persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 were recorded in the past 24 hours, following the processing of 14,859 tests conducted at the national level, informs, on Sunday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS). These are cases that had no prior positive test, the GCS mentions.

Highest COVID-19 caseloads in Romania still in Suceava County (3,536), Bucharest City (2,015)

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have so far been recorded in Suceava County - 3,536 and in Bucharest City- 2,015. As of June 1, on the Romanian soil, 19,398 cases of persons infected with the COVID-19 virus were confirmed, and out of the positively testing persons 13,426 were declared cured and discharged.

Suceava County, Bucharest are Romania's highest coronavirus caseload areas

The north-eastern Suceava County and Bucharest further report Romania's first and second-highest numbers of coronavirus infection cases: 3,478 and 1,659, respectively, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs. Romania has a total of 17,191 people confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus.

Cases of COVID-19 infected healthcare professionals in Romania pass 1,000

The number of healthcare professionals infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania is standing at 1,031, according to reports received by the National Public Health Institute (INSP), the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, reported on Saturday at noon.

GCS: 40,987 tests processed so far; most cases in Suceava, Bucharest

Nearly 41,000 coronavirus tests have been performed so far, at national level, the Strategic Communication Group announces on Monday. According to the quoted source, up to this date, 40,987 tests have been processed. Most cases confirmed with the new coronavirus are still registered in Suceava county - 1,228 and in Bucharest - 566.

UPDATE 1/BEC- voter turnout in referendum: By 11:00hrs, 8.49pct of electors cast their vote

The vote turnout across the country in the referendum convened by President Klaus Iohannis stood at 8.49 percent on Sunday, until 11:00hrs, according to the data registered on the website of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC). In the urban area, 924,677 electors voted, whereas in the rural area 627,604. According to the BEC, in Bucharest 8.86 percent cast their vote.
