The consumption of red wine is declining compared to white and rosé varieties, according to Atanas Vassilev, chairman of the National Association of Bulgarian Vintners (NABV). Vassilev noted that red varieties are primarily being used to produce rosé, which has led to difficulties in selling red wine.

Volčji Potok – An exhibition of roses from all European Union member states has opened in the Arboretum Volčji Potok botanical gardens to mark the Slovenian presidency of the Council of the EU and present rose growing culture as an integrating element in the EU.

Entitled the EU in Roses, the exhibition comes upon an initiative of the Culture Ministry. It will run until 31 October.

At least 40% of the rose fields in our country this year may remain unharvested.

This was predicted by representative of the Association of Rose Producers on the Bulgarian National Radio. The reasons are low purchasing prices and lack of markets.
