GERB To Hold Talks With Bulgaria's President on New Mandate

The meeting of the parliamentary group of GERB and President Rossen Plevneliev will take place on Thursday, announced in Parliament the Deputy Chairman of the party Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

There will be political consultations which the President will hold with all groups represented in Parliament in order to look for solutions useful for the state, said Tsvetanov.

Bulgaria's Incumbent, Elected President to Meet on Monday

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and President-elect Rumen Radev are set to meet in Sofia on Monday, officials say.

Plevneliev is receiving Radev at the Presidency less than 24 hours after exit polls suggested the latter was overwhelmingly winning the presidential race and would become the next head of state.

According to local media, Borissov also called for an early parliamentary election after the centre-right Tsacheva's defeat.

Bulgaria's PM to Step Down over Election Results

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said he will step down next week, just after his candidate Tsetska Tsacheva emerged as a loser of the presidential election's runoff.

He has also urged an early election, warning the next government would be made by the socialist opposition party BSP and ethnic Turk-dominared DPS if his mandate is handed over to the socialists.
