Zelensky called on the EU to stop Russian state media in Europe

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the European Union to ban all Russian state television channels from its territory in order to limit the Russian propaganda that Europeans are exposed to.

Romania's National Audiovisual Council, the country's broadcasting watchdog, is set to decide at its next meeting whether to allow a Moldovan television channel that broadcasts Russian state TV programs to operate in Romania.

Local experts and journalists have warned that the station might give a powerful voice for Kremlin propaganda.

The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission suspended on Wednesday the broadcasting of the Russian-language TV channel RTR Planeta for a period of three months.

According to the Lithuanian watchdog, the channel had repeatedly breached the Law on Provision of Information to the Public by instigating war and hatred.
