Russia's Bolshoi Theater has removed a ballet dedicated to dancer Rudolf Nureyev from its repertoire, citing a new Russian law that expands restrictions on activities seen as promoting LGBT rights, its director said Wednesday.

The Paris Opera's production of "Swan Lake" based on the famed 1984 choreography by Rudolf Nureyev will be streamed online by Greece's Christmas Theater event organizer from February 12-15. Actor Ralph Fiennes Receives Serbian Citizenship
Serbia has granted citizenship to the British actor and director Ralph Fiennes, who is filming a movie about a Soviet ballet dancing legend in Belgrade.
The latest issue of Serbia's national gazette said the decision was signed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on September 7, Beta news agency reports.

French dance star fuses tradition, reform as head of Russian troupe
French dance star Laurent Hilaire, the new artistic director of Moscow's renowned Stanislavsky Music Theatre ballet troupe, has vowed to expand its repertoire while preserving its rich traditions.
"This is an opera and ballet house with a certain history, culture and tradition," Hilaire, who took on the position in January, told AFP during a recent interview.
