French referees slam Frappart incident
The French Union of Referees (SAFE) expressed its condemnation on Monday after French ref Stephanie Frappart had to be escorted off the pitch by police following Saturday's cup final between Panathinaikos and Aris.
Frappart was accosted by Aris officials after the game, which PAO won 1-0.

Football: 5 substitutes temporarily allowed due to virus
The International Football Association Board (IFAB) confirmed on May 8 that teams can make extra substitutions during games to "protect player welfare" in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lawyers assault referee in northern Greece
A referee officiating a soccer match in the northern Greek town of Kozani between teams of the bar associations of Athens and Thessaloniki was physically assaulted after awarding a penalty shortly before the end of the game.
According to reports, the referee was assaulted by two lawyers who are members of the Athens bar, along with supporters who invaded the pitch.

Football referee struck by player “lighting” (hilarious video)

One of the country?s leading basketball referees had his car torched on Saturday, a few days before the start of the Greek basketball league finals, likely to be between champion Panathinaikos and challenger Olympiakos.
The car of Christos Panayiotou was set alight on Saturday night at his hometown of Patra, after its windscreen was smashed and a petrol bomb was thrown in.

The head of referees in Greece's Central Refereeing Committee (KED) has stepped down, the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) said on Tuesday, four days after matches were suspended indefinitely following an attack on a KED official.
