Bulgaria’s Government Allocates BGN 100,000 for Excavations at Ancient City Heraclea Sintica
Bulgaria's government on August 7 allocated BGN 100,000 to the Ministry of Culture for the excavations of the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica near Rupite. The state has already provided BGN 1.5 million for excavation and construction of roads to the site. The ancient city is the most visited tourist site in Southwestern Bulgaria, reports BNT.

Sofia. The government has approved an additional BGN 60,000 for archaeological research at Heraclea Sintica in Rupite, Petrich. The government press office said the allocation was in response to the urgent need to continue field research there.

The government has approved BGN 100,000 in addition to the budget of the Ministry of Culture. The funds are provided for the continuation of the field archaeological researches of one of the most significant archaeological sites in Bulgaria - Heraclea Sintica in the Rupite area near Petrich, BGNES reported.
