Dropping out the monitoring mechanisms on Bulgaria and Romania would only take place after their recommendations are implemented, the Council of the European Union says in a report.

New research conducted by the Belgrade Center for Security Policy and BIRN says that major branches of the Serbian justice system, police and judiciary remain influenced by corruption.

Sectoral anti-corruption plans in the spheres of healthcare, energy, agriculture, transport, tax administration and customs authorities, are to be ready by end-October, according to a decision of the National Council for Anti-Corruption Practices announced on Wednesday.

Wednesday's meeting of the Council was closed.

BELGRADE - Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic said Tuesday that he is not content with the results of the action plan for the implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy, which came into force a year ago.

Western Balkans "region of peace and stability"

BERLIN -- Ivica Dačić stated on Thursday that the Western Balkans is a region of peace and stability looking forward to prompt EU accession.

BELGRADE - The Serbian government decided on Thursday to set up a coordination body for implementing the national anti-corruption strategy by 2018, which will be headed by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
