Russian ballet star Vladimir Shklyarov dies at 39 after falling from fifth floor

Vladimir Shklyarov, a ballet star, tragically passed away at the age of 39 after falling from the fifth floor of a building, announced a representative from the Mariinsky Theatre.

According to the theatre’s spokesperson, Shklyarov fell on Saturday. The 39-year-old dancer had been taking painkillers for a back injury and was scheduled for spinal surgery on Monday.

‘Minkus Night’ in Kadıköy

'Minkus Night,' to be staged by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet on March 31 and April 1at the Kadıköy Municipality Süreyya Opera, will present a selection of the most difficult and beautiful parts of the ballet works that have an important place in the classical ballet repertoire, inspired by the music of Ludwig Minkus. The event will start at 8:30 pm.

'Swan Lake' at TİM Show Center

The world-famous Saint Petersburg Ballet Theater will perform the "Swan Lake" ballet at Istanbul's TİM Show Center on Dec 3, 4, and 5.

The ballet company will be accompanied on the stage by Antonina Chapkina and Fuad Mamedov, the lead singers of the Bolshoi Ballet, one of the oldest ballet companies in the world.

Paris Opera’s ‘Swan Lake’ | February 12-15

The Paris Opera's production of "Swan Lake" based on the famed 1984 choreography by Rudolf Nureyev will be streamed online by Greece's Christmas Theater event organizer from February 12-15. Ticket services firm Viva.gr is showing Tchaikovsky's all-time classic "Swan Lake" in a high-definition recording by the Russian Ballet Theater that was performed at the Piraeus Municipal Theater last year, starring Mizinova Liudmila, Odinokova Natalia and Tkachenko Maxim. The video can be viewed at any time through December 31 and the fee is 10 euros.
