The director of Moldova's National Anti-Corruption Centre, Iulian Rusu, announced on Monday evening the seizure of oligarch Ilan Shor's assets in the country.

"The seizures applied by the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency reached the amount of 1.5 billion lei [about 75 million euros]. These are properties from Moldova," Rusu told TV8.

The five Romanian troops of the 300th Sfantu Andrei Mechanised Infantry Battalion injured on Friday in Afghanistan are staff sergeant Marian Rusu, corporals class 2 Florin Anton and Florin-Alexandru Stefan, corporal class 3 Petrica Apetroaie and private Nicolae Petcu, according to a press statement released by the Romanian Defence Ministry (MApN).

“Plastic bottles should not end up in the water,” is the main message of EcoStuff Romania, an environmental association that has turned around 104,502 of these throw-away items into a makeshift bridge over the Bega Canal in Timisoara, western Romania.
