Prosecutors have demanded five-year jail sentences for former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş and HDP Ankara deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder on charges of "making terrorist propaganda."

The opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has started its "conscience and justice watch" in Istanbul's Kadıköy district with the participation of several lawmakers. 

The Kurdish issue-focused HDP started its watch on Aug. 1 in Kadıköy's Yoğurtçu Park after spending a week in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır. 

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has scheduled a meeting with the head of the Constitutional Court, Zühtü Arslan, daily Cumhuriyet has said.

The meeting is slated take place next week, with party deputies expected to focus on the issue of its arrested deputies, the daily said. 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder has said his fellow deputy Pervin Buldan and himself will meet Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ on April 3 to convey their concerns over their co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who has launched a hunger strike.  

The Kurdish-issue focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has launched its official campaign for a "no" vote in the upcoming constitutional referendum with meetings in three provinces: Istanbul, İzmir and Diyarbakır.

Süreyya Önder appeared before the cameras June 7 around 8:20 p.m., when nearly 80 percent of the ballot boxes across Turkey had been counted, announcing that, according to the current election results, the HDP had passed the 10 percent election threshold and was sending around 80 deputies to the parliament. 

Despite holding a lengthy meeting that did not reflect a particularly negative mood, neither the government nor the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) have stepped back in their position regarding the definition of public order and its place in the resolution process.
