VIDEO: Batmobile crosses Istanbul's third bridge in Turkish Airlines advert

The specially-designed Batman Batmobile has crossed Istanbul's third bridge in a new advertisement by flagship carrier Turkish Airlines, as a part of its series sponsoring the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie.

The car was brought to Turkey last month and placed at the worksite of the third bridge, named the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in honor of an Ottoman sultan. 

Heavy fog halts maritime traffic in Istanbul

Heavy fog blanketed Istanbul on Feb. 29 affecting transportation in the metropolis, including the cancelations of most ferry lines as well as disruptions in air traffic. 

Many city ferry lines were canceled due to the fog, which began to show its effects early in the morning.

However, ferry lines bound for the Prince Islands and the Golden Horn continued without disruption.

Flights, ferries canceled in Istanbul over forecasted snow

A forecasted snowfall in Istanbul has affected a number of flights and ferries on Jan. 25, as carriers have announced cancelations in both domestic and international transportation.

Turkish Airlines announced on Jan. 25 that a total of 143 domestic and international flights scheduled from Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport had been canceled for Jan. 26 and Jan. 27.

Flights, ferries canceled in Istanbul due to snow storm

Heavy snowfall has severely affected transportation in Istanbul as flights and ferries were canceled and schools were closed by a snow storm that is expected to continue until late Jan. 19. 

Turkish Airlines (THY) announced on Jan. 18 that 137 flights scheduled from Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport had been canceled due to the adverse weather conditions. 

Turkey's Pegasus resumes Russia flights after visa problems resolved

Low-cost carrier Pegasus has announced that it has restarted flights to Russia after a visa problem for its flight crews was resolved. 

The company halted flights on Jan. 4 until Jan. 13 after it failed to get a positive response from Russia to visa applications for its crew members. 

Turkish Airlines cancels Istanbul flights as snow storms loom

Turkish Airlines cancelled 142 flights to and from Istanbul and warned of further disruption in coming days as the city braced on Dec. 30 for heavy snow. 

Many of the cancelled flights were domestic, but routes to European and Middle Eastern airports including Hamburg, Munich, Milan and Tehran were also hit.
