‘1923’ celebrates 100th anniversary of Republic

Produced for the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the musical "1923," which tells the story of the Republic with fantastic elements from the Bandırma Ferry, where the War of Independence started, to the opening of the Parliament, from the Great Offensive to the establishment of the Republic, was on stage at Zorlu PSM on Sept. 23.

Google doodle marks late actor Sadri Alışık’s 96th birthday

Google creates a doodle to mark the 96th birthday of late actor Sadri Alışık, a renowned Turkish stage and movie actor famous for his comedy, who served in the Turkish cinema from the 1960s to 1995.

Remembered as a great Turkish cinema legend, the actor died in 1995 due to multiple organ failures.

Actors mark World Theater Day amid pandemic

Turkey's actors on March 27 marked the World Theater Day by releasing videos on social media and encouraging people to stay at home as the novel coronavirus continues spreading across the globe.

Veteran Turkish actress Çolpan İlhan and her son Kerem Alışık, who is also an actor and general art director of Sadri Alışık Theater in Istanbul, marked the World Theater day in a statement.
