Engineering works at Turkey's Sakarya Gas Field in the Black Sea region are completed and the first subsea pipes will be laid in the spring of 2022, the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez confirmed on Nov. 22.

Italian multinational oilfield services company Saipem will transport and install pipelines for Turkey's Sakarya Gas Field located in Blacksea.

The company was awarded two new offshore contracts for transportation and installation activities for a total amount of over $600 million, Saipem announced on Nov. 15.

Cyprus accused Turkey on Friday of threatening to use force against a drillship chartered by Italy's Eni, in a standoff over hydrocarbons rights in the eastern Mediterranean. 

Turkish warships harassed the surveying vessel of oil company Eni and threatened to sink it on Friday in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus, with the Italian ship forced to make the necessary maneuvers so as to avoid a collision, according to Skai radio that cited Cypriot news reports.
