Crete: Infant and 10-year-old child in intensive care with salmonella
Two children, who were infected with salmonella, are being treated at the Children’s ICU of the University General Hospital of Heraklion.
According to Radio Crete, the supervisor of Public Health of the Region of Crete, Antonis Papadakis said the first case involves an infant just 5 months old and the other a 10-year-old child.

Infectious diseases increase 39.7 pct in 2016
The number of patients suffering from infectious diseases such as the flu, tuberculosis and meningitis that were reported to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) shot up by 39.7 percent in 2016 to 4,780 cases, against 3,421 the previous year.
