Police says perpetrators of attack on Turkish media group head 'related to criminal group'
An armed attack on Murat Sancak, the chairman of the Star media outlet, on Aug. 20 was ?related to a criminal group,? the Istanbul Police Department has said in a written statement.

One arrested in case of armed assault on Turkish media group head
One of the six suspects transferred to court in the case into the Aug. 20 armed assault targeting the chairman of the Star media outlet Murat Sancak was arrested on Oct. 16.
The 1st criminal court of peace ruled for the arrest of the suspect, identified only by the initials T.Ü., over "attempted voluntary manslaughter," while the other five were released.
Seven suspects detained in case of armed assault on Turkish media group head
Police have detained a total of seven suspects, including the alleged instigator of an armed attack targeting the chairman of Turkish media outlet Star on Aug. 20.
Turkish media group head assaulted in Istanbul
The chairman of Turkish media outlet Star has been assaulted by gunfire in Istanbul while riding inside his armored car, however no casualties were reported.
Murat Sancak, who is also the nephew of businessman Ethem Sancak, was caught in crossfire on Aug. 20 along with his bodyguard and driver in Istanbul's Had?mköy district at around 12 p.m.
