New satellite access station for European Aviation Network in Greece

The development of the SAS in Nemea, Peloponnese, will be a key infrastructure milestone for EAN, which was unveiled by Inmarsat last month as the first aviation passenger connectivity solution in Europe to combine an advanced satellite network and LTE-based ground network, the latter of which will be operated by Deutsche Telekom.

Greece to host inflight internet in EU flights

Inmarsat, British satellite company, has chosen Greece and the country’s largest telecommunications provider OTE to install the terrestrial satellite station of the European Aviation Network (EAN). The service will offer high-speed inflight connectivity for Europe from a Satellite Access Station (SAS) to be set up in Nemea, the Peloponnese.

Greece's OTE picks Eutelsat KA-SAT for broadband service

OTE telecom has selected the Eutelsat KA-SAT to deliver new satellite broadband service to homes across Greece.

The satellite broadband service will be delivered alongside OTE’s TV platform broadcast from the Eutelsat 9A satellite.

The broadband service and the TV platform will share the same orbital position as KA-SAT.
