Shared Scooters in Sofia Offer Free Ride on the Election Day

Residents of the capital can reach polling stations on Sunday, using the Lime shared scooters for 15 minutes for free, the company said. The promotion will be valid from 7am until the end of election day.

In order to ride the scooters, users must enter the code in their wallet in the Lime application.

The New Rules for Electric Scooters Are Ready

The rules for electric scooters are ready. They will be equivalent to bicycles - they will be able to cycle on bike lanes or on streets that have a speed limit of up to 50 km / h.

All people aged over 16 will be legally able to drive the electric scooters. Children between the ages of 14 and 16 will only be able to ride the scooters on bike lanes.

Traffic police officers are beginning to sanction the owners of electric scooters, as they are not legally allowed to move on the road network in Bulgaria, the head of the Traffic Police-Sofia Commissioner Lyubomir Kostadinov told the BNR.

Kostadinov added that the first incidents with scooters were registered. And he appeals to the drivers to be very careful.

Electric Scooters Can Now be Rented From 200 Points in Sofia

The first electric scooters in Sofia are already operational today. There are more than 150 scooters in various locations in the city, and anyone who wants to use them can do so for a starting fee of BGN 1.50 and BGN 0.30 per minute. The Capital already Has a Parking Lot for Bicycles and Electric Scooters

The first parking lot for scooters and bicycles was opened in the capital, BGNES reports. The bike parking lot is located on Vitosha Blvd., near the intersection with Dr. Stefan Sarafov Street in the South Park direction.

In addition, similar parking lots will also be opened around the Largo, at Moskovska Street and Dondukov Blvd.

200 Free Parking Spaces For Bicycles and Electric Scooters in Sofia

Mounting of the stands begins on Monday, reported NOVA TV. 

200 free parking spaces for bicycles, drones, mopeds and scooters in Sofia. Putting the stands will start as early as next Monday.

So far, the envisaged locations for free parking of two-wheeled vehicles are around Largo, at ''Moskovska'' Street and ''Dondukov'' Blvd.
