The first major world premiere since Hollywood actors went on strike featured no stars and a mournful director who said he backed the walkout but missed his cast "terribly."

Leaders of Hollywood's actors' union voted Thursday to join screenwriters in the first joint strike in more than six decades, shutting down production across the entertainment industry after talks for a new contract with studios and streaming services broke down.

The union representing 160,000 actors and performers have agreed to extend contract negotiations with Hollywood studios, staving off a potentially crippling strike until at least July 12.

The Screen Actors Guild has announced nominations to its 29th annual awards, heaping nominations on "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and "The Banshees of Inisherin," while throwing some curve balls into the Oscar race.

Chadwick Boseman received two posthumous nominations from the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 4, while the Korean American family drama "Minari" and Spike Lee's Vietnam veteran drama "Da 5 Bloods" were among the nominees for best ensemble.
