Minister reacts to photos of damp stains at British Museum's Parthenon marbles gallery
Greek Culture Minister Leda Mendoni on Wednesday reacted to a report on the Cretapost.gr news site based on a series of photographs taken by a group of Cretan tourists on a recent visit to the exhibit of the Parthenon marbles at the British Museum in London.
Moralis sculpture on Aegean vandalized
An unknown individual or individuals painted over an untitled sculpture by Yiannis Moralis (1916-2009), a key proponent of Greece's Thirties Generation of modern artists, on Aegina in the Saronic Gulf Wednesday. The all-black, ferryboat-inspired sculpture was donated to the municipality in 2016 and initially placed in the island's port.

Innovative sculptor Takis dies
Greek sculptor Takis, whose art was defined by the use of light and electromagneticism, died Friday at his home in Gerovouno, north of Athens, at the age of 93. Born Panagiotis Vasilakis, he served in the Greek resistance to the Nazi occupation and lived through the civil war that ensued. He moved to Paris in 1954.

Statue of Alexander the Great installed in Athens
A statue of the ancient Greek warrior-king Alexander the Great was on Wednesday installed on the corner of Amalias and Vasilissis Olgas avenues in central Athens.
The statue, which will be officially unveiled on Friday, is a work by prominent 20th century sculptor Yiannis Pappas (1913-2005).
