Official Kurdish bid talks may start in 10 days: HDP co-leader

Official talks on the Kurdish peace process may start in 10 days, the co-chair Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has said in Moscow at an affiliate of a U.S.-based think tank.

HDP wants to see greater Russian role on Kurdish issue

Moscow needs to become more involved in the Kurdish issue, Selahattin Demirtaş, the co-leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), has said during a five-day visit to the Russian capital.

Russia does not generally contact Kurds directly, but prefers doing this via Turkey, Demirtaş told dailies Sputnik and Kommersant, Cihan news agency reported.

HDP co-chair heads to Moscow for talks on regional issues

Co-Chair of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Selahattin Demirtaş departed on Dec. 22 for a five-day visit to the Russian capital city of Moscow where he is expected to hold talks on regional conflicts, with a particular focus on the battle against jihadists in Rojava, the Kurdish region in the northern part of Syria.
