Kırıkkale’s Balışeyh mayor killed in armed assault

The central Anatolian province of Kırıkkale's Balışeyh mayor and his driver have been killed in an armed attack, with three other individuals having been injured.
The deadly attack occurred around 10 a.m. on Nov. 4 while mayor Hilmi Şen and his team were heading to a construction site.

Country to experience blistering heat, warns expert
Heavy downpours and flurries will leave the country as of July 1, a prominent Turkish meteorologist has said while warning citizens to get ready to bear the brunt of blistering temperatures that will last at least a week.
"As of the weekend, the temperatures will reach life-threatening levels," Orhan Şen told the daily Milliyet on June 29.
8,000-year-old village life to be exhibited
The findings unearthed in the Aşağıpınar archeological excavations in the northwestern province of Kırklareli will be passed down to future generations in an open-air time tunnel on the site.
Started in 1993, the studies on the site revealed the traces of the region's oldest farming communities which brought agriculture and village settlement from Anatolia to Thrace.

Actor makes 60 liras in half hour in guise of beggar
A stage actor made 60 Turkish Liras ($7.8) in just half an hour while taking a stroll in the main street of the southern province of Adana disguised as a beggar for a social experiment on Nov. 21.

An investigation has been launched into an imam who took a selfie with a fallen Turkish soldier's coffin in the Çine district of the Aegean province of Aydın.
Süleyman Şen, the imam of the Mutaflar mosque in Aydın, took the picture and shared it on his social media account, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Oct. 1.
