Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on May 3 met Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar at the Prime Minister's Office in the capital Islamabad.

Pakistan's new Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi began his first full day in office on Wednesday by meeting his ousted former boss Nawaz Sharif, a signal the ex-premier would continue to wield influence after the Supreme Court disqualified him.

Ousted Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced plans on July 29 for his brother Shahbaz to take over as leader of the country and lashed out at the Supreme Court ruling that barred him from office.
