Reds beat Real Madrid, Greens thrash Villeurbanne

Less than three days after their league derby - that Panathinaikos Aktor won in Piraeus - the Greens and the Reds scored home wins of varying significance for the Euroleague at the start of another double week.

Olympiakos shook off its losing streak and the 78-71 home defeat to Panathinaikos on Sunday night to beat Real Madrid 79-69 on Tuesday.

Greens lose in Paris, while Reds beat Armani Milano

Both Greek teams in the Euroleague are now on a 2-1 record, as Olympiakos saw off Armani Milano in Piraeus and Panathinaikos went down at new boys Paris Basketball on Tuesday.

Olympiakos was consistently better than Armani Milano and predictably won 89-68 after a solid performance that banished the memories of the loss to Fenerbahce on October 4.

Last-gasp wins for persistent Reds and Greens

Olympiakos was rewarded for its persistence and defeated visiting Monaco on Thursday, as did Panathinaikos at Valencia on Friday, in a positive end of the week for Greek teams in the Euroleague.

Olympiakos outfoxed Monaco at the end of their game at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus to win 75-73 for its 11th victory in 19 matches.

Greek away wins on either side of the Alps

Panathinaikos made it two out of two on the road this week in the Euroleague, as it followed its win at Monaco with a triumph at Armani Milano on Friday, just one hour after Olympiakos scored a road win of its own, downing Villeurbanne at Lyon.

The Reds overcame its lowly host with an 85-73 score in France to reach an 8-8 record.
