Something odd is going on off the shores of South Africa. Several deceased great white sharks are turning up along a stretch of coastline with their livers quite precisely removed from their carcasses; two of them were also missing their hearts.

More than 40 years ago, Americans were afraid to go into the water as "Jaws" scared the daylights out of a generation of ocean swimmers. Hollywood is hoping for a repeat this summer with the movie "47 Meters Down." 

There have been more than 50 shark movies since Steven Spielberg made cinematic history with "Jaws" in 1975.  

Dale Pearson from the town of Puertecitos in Baja California, Mexico, got the shock of his life last month when he went to go help a struggling sea creature in shallow waters.

He thought it would be a beached whale or struggling hammerhead shark but instead it was a great white shark.

But recent events coming from the beaches of South Africa show that there is one marine creature that even great whites might want to avoid.

Shark sightings in Greek waters in the Aegean Sea are a rarity. But when the Brousogiannis brothers pulled up their nets they were surprised to find a 7-metre shark. According to skopelos-news-blogspot.gr, the fish weighed over 300 kilos. In March fishermen in Nea Kio of Argolis had reeled in a 4-metre shark.

One of the most iconic horror movies of all time, Steven Spielberg's unforgettable "Jaws" is now set to take stage with the accompaniment of BBC Concert Orchestra for this year's Festival of Film at London's Royal Albert Hall. 

A photographer in South Africa captured the terrifying moment a great white shark lunges out of the water to bite on to a piece of bait dangling off the side of a tourist boat. Its impressive and scary jaws can be seen opening wide revealing its razor-sharp teeth ripping through its food.

Photographer Jason Whittle was witness of a rare incident, an ultimate battle for survival. Two white sharks were fighting over who will win the food.

The photographer captured a 5-meter white shark attacking another white shark that attempted to steal its meal. The incident was recorded in Neptune Islands off the coast of Adelaide, Australia.

A video circulating on the internet shows a huge white shark, which is reportedly that largest ever captured on camera. The massive creature is about 6 meters long and is estimated to weigh a whopping 2.2 tons.
