Bull killed a shepherd in the village of Yagnillo in Varna. The incident happened on Wednesday.

The man was with a herd of sheep when he was lethally attacked by the nearby animal.

The bull is owned by a local breeder.

When Dolly the sheep was put down before her 7th birthday in 2003, she was said to suffer from age-related osteoarthritis, raising red flags that clones may grow old faster. But scientists said Nov. 23 that the fear of premature, clone-related ageing appears to have been misplaced. Dolly's joint disease was, in fact, quite normal.

Two people were killed and another five injured in a road accident involving a flock of sheep on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos, authorities said on Monday.

According to reports, the sheep were being illegally transferred after dark on Sunday night in violation of a ban on all livestock movements on the island - in response to an outbreak of sheep pox.

1,200 sheep were placed in the streets of Lyon, with hundreds of shepherds, mostly from the alpine regions. They protest a planned ban on shooting wolves.

It is envisaged that the predator, which is a protected species, will only be intimidated by shots. The shepherds are unhappy because the benefits for their animals are tied to the herd's security measures.

A program for breeding and protecting the Greek Sheepdog by the Arcturos wildlife and nature conservation society has been a resounding success, and, according to its press secretary, Panos Stefanou, "there are farmers who will wait for more than two years to get a puppy."

Bulgarian farmers will demonstrate in the capital Sofia on Monday to vent their anger at new rules for the allocation of EU subsidies.

Under recently adopted changes to the subsidies mechanism, a farm needs at least 50 female sheep and 20 female goats to be eligible for funding.

Sheep are generally associated with being meek and docile creatures. But it seems this ram didn’t get the memo. In an uncharacteristic move it suddenly started attacking the shepherd of the herd. As a car approaches, its dash-cam records the herd initially scattering, but out of nowhere the “rogue” ram turns against the shepherd butting him.

Going to church on Sundays is generally associated to a solemn esoteric experience, with a choir chanting and in some cases the scent of incense permeating the gathering. But some of the younger members of these traditional congregations find this atmosphere very boring and unappealing.

Some 41 sheep have been found killed after being poisoned in the Karatay district of the Central Anatolian province of Konya, Doğan News Agency reported on Sept. 19. 

Some 15 of the 41 sheep were found by their owner Alaattin Gezer struggling for their lives following the apparent poisoning, after which he opted to slaughter them.
