Turkish Iron Trader ship with ten crew members has not been able to return to Turkey for the last two years due to financial problems. Seven of the crew have left the ship, but the remaining three are still on board, off the coast of Brazil, asking for their unpaid fees. 

A cruise ship has collided with a tanker off Gallipoli while crossing Turkey's Dardanelles Strait.

"Louis Cristal," a 162-meter-long cruise ship registered in Malta, was travelling from Greece to Istanbul when it collided early June 27 with "STI Pimlico," a 182-meter-long tanker registered in Marshall Islands, which had left Russia for Malta, Do?an News Agency reported.

Three crew members of the fated Sea Diamond cruise liner, which sank off the island of Santorini in 2007, causing the death of two people, faced a Piraeus appeals court on Tuesday after the Supreme Court partially upheld their appeals against their conviction on charges of negligence.

Five people found guilty last year for their part in the sinking of the Sea Diamond cruise ship off Santorini in 2007, which caused the deaths of two passengers, were cleared on appeal Friday but the convictions of three others were not overturned.
