The Antikythera shipwreck: 124 years of underwater archaeological exploration showcased at the Laskaridis Foundation
For the first time, more than 80 artifacts from the Antikythera Shipwreck are on display at the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation. This is the most comprehensive temporary exhibition to date, highlighting the results of modern research conducted from 2012 to 2024. The exhibition provides detailed insights into the ship, its rigging, cargo, and the people onboard.
Janissary weapons discovered in Ottoman shipwreck
New historical artifacts have been unearthed during the excavation of the Kızlan Ottoman Shipwreck off the coast of Datça in the western province of Muğla.
The discoveries, believed to belong to the Ottoman Empire, shed light on the ship's identity and the era in which it sank.

Ombudsman probes coast guard over Pylos wreck
High-ranking Hellenic Coast Guard officers have been appearing before the Greek Ombudsman since Monday over the fatal shipwreck off southern Greece in June 2023.
The process is expected to be completed on September 20, with the examination of the coast guard head himself, Vice Admiral Georgios Alexandrakis.

Shipwreck in Palermo: Body of Hannah Lynch, the last missing person, found
The lifeless body of 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, the daughter of the English tycoon who had been missing since the luxury yacht Bayesian sank last Monday, was discovered by Italian firefighters on Friday morning.
Hannah, the last missing person from the shipwreck, was trapped in one of the cabins, along with the other victims.
Palermo: Two Bodies Found from the Shipwreck – Search Continues

According to Reuters, two bodies were discovered by Italian coast guard authorities within the ship that had sunk and was lying 50 meters deep on the sea floor. The bodies have not yet been identified, and it remains to be determined which of the missing persons they belong to.
Vesic expects 21 Nazi German shipwrecks to be cleared from Danube by end-2024
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic said on Friday he expected the wrecks of 21 Nazi German warships to be cleared from the bottom of the Danube by the end of this year to restore full navigability of the river near Prahovo, eastern Serbia.
The ships were sunk by the Nazis near the Port of Prahovo as WWII was drawing to a close.
