NYT: Toronto Van Driver Kills at Least 10 People
TORONTO — The killing began on a busy lunchtime thoroughfare in Toronto on Monday when a white rental Ryder van ran over a pedestrian crossing the street — then mounted a sidewalk and began plowing into people indiscriminately.
"One by one, one by one," said a witness who identified himself as Ali. "Holy God, I've never seen such a sight before. I feel sick."

New Traffic Jams in Sofia because of Metro Construction

At least 18 Injured After Van Slams into Pedestrians in Shanghai
A van ploughed into pedestrians after veering onto a crowded sidewalk in a busy area of central Shanghai on Friday (Feb 2), leaving at least 18 people injured, three of them seriously, city authorities said.
The incident occurred at People's Park in the heart of the city around 9am, when crowds of residents would have been on their way to work.

Lean year for roadside treasure hunter
We spotted him walking along the side of Athinon Avenue in the western suburbs of Athens on a Saturday afternoon. He did not appear to be in any hurry, nor bothered by the rush of cars whizzing past him on this major thoroughfare which eventually turns into the Athens-Corinth national highway.

Car plows into Times Square crowd; 1 dead, about 20 hurt
A man who appeared intoxicated drove his car the wrong way up a Times Square street on May 18 and plowed into pedestrians on the sidewalk, killing one and injuring about 20 others, authorities and witnesses said. The driver was taken into custody and being tested for alcohol.
