Sirens to sound between 11 and 11.05 a.m. on Wednesday

Civil defense sirens are scheduled to go off across Greece Wednesday as part of the annual military and public defense exercise dubbed Parmenion, after the Macedonian general of Philip II and Alexander the Great.

The air-raid sirens will sound at 60-second intervals, starting at 11 a.m. and lasting until 11.05 a.m.

Civil defense drill to be held on Wednesday

Civil defense sirens are scheduled to go off across Greece on Wednesday as part of the annual military and public defense exercise dubbed Parmenion.

The air-raid sirens will ring at 60-second intervals starting at 11 a.m. and lasting until 11:05 a.m.

The public is advised that the air-raid drill is simply a preparedness exercise and should not cause any alarm.

Sirens to go off in Greece on Tuesday

Warning sirens will go off in tests all over Greece on Tuesday, as part of the nationwide civil defence exercise “Parmenion”, the Greek Police announced.

At 11:00 am on Tuesday morning, the sirens will sound intermittently and at differing sound levels for 60 seconds, until 11:05 am, when an uninterrupted siren will sound for another 60 seconds.
