Honorary cycling tour completed in capital
Starting from the Central Anatolian province of Sivas, a total of 100 cyclists have finished a bicycle race held to honor the establishment of modern Türkiye a century ago.
The race, organized by the Presidency with the participation of 100 athletes from 16 teams in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, started on Aug. 1.

St. Blaise monument to be built in his hometown
A monument will be built in the Central Anatolian province of Sivas for Saint Blaise, who is recognized as one of the first bishops of Christianity in Anatolia.
In Sivas province, a study was initiated to locate the exact placement of the tomb of Saint Blaise, which was estimated to be in Gök Medrese neighborhood. The excavation work carried out by archaeologists was completed.

Eastern city to apply to add city center to UNESCO list
Sivas Governor's Office has initiated works to add the city center of the eastern province, which hosted many historical artifacts from the Seljuk, Ottoman and Republican periods, to the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Tentative List.
