The Sleeping Beauty

The Polish National Ballet is bringing its production of "Sleeping Beauty," with music by by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Marius Petipa's mesmerizing choreography, to the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (tch.gr) on April 7. This timeless masterpiece is directed by Nina Abramanko, a former Bolshoi dancer, and features the company's principal dancer Chinara Alizade, among others.

Unable to open its doors this year due to the Covid restrictions, the annual Christmas Theater program of holiday events has gone online with a shorter program of live-streamed shows. For the Christmas holiday it will be streaming Tchaikovsky's family favorite "Sleeping Beauty" with the 1966 choreography by Rudolf Nureyev for Milan's La Scala.

The St Petersburg Festival Ballet will be on stage at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall with Tchaikovsky's all-time classic "Sleeping Beauty," in a production inspired by the company's founder, Marius Petipa, and adapted to the 21st century. Elena Kotsyubira performs the role of Aurora. Shows take place at 8.30 p.m., with extra 4.30 p.m. performances on December 21 and 22.

The Russian Ballet Theater is wrapping up its tour of Greece on Crete with three shows of its stripped-down production of Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty," based on Marius Petipa's original choreography.

The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB) is bringing one of the world's most famous ballets, "Sleeping Beauty," to the stage at the Kadıköy Süreyya Opera for the first time in 20 years.

According to a statement made by IDOB, "Sleeping Beauty" provides a premier example of collaboration between choreographers and composers.

The Antalya State Opera and Ballet will premiere the famous ballet ?Sleeping Beauty,? based on the story by the Grimm Brothers, on April 22 at the Antalya Ha?im ??can Culture Center.
