Prices for Phone Calls in the EU Fall as of May 15
From May 15, retail prices for mobile and fixed calls from one country to another in the European Union should not exceed 19 cents per minute, the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) recalls for the new Euro-regulations. The highest price for SMS within the EU will be 6 euro cents per message.

Emergency Number 112 is now Available for Disabled People, but only after Registration
Emergency telephone number 112 can now be used via a mobile application, a computer and a tablet, the MoI announced.
The new features of the system are introduced to give people with hearing and speech impairment access. However, they need to pre-register, which requires a lot of personal data and details about the person who has decided to use the new opportunities.

Payments over the Internet or via your mobile phone will become more secure from abuse. This will be provided by a new law on payment systems, which has already been approved by the Council of Ministers.
One of the options in the law is that payment service providers will introduce identification of the payer through his fingerprint or the iris of the eye.

Veteran journalist Kadri Gürsel, a columnist at daily Cumhuriyet who has been in jail since Nov. 5, 2016, has refuted allegations against him in a letter from jail, saying that most of the phone records presented as "evidence" that he aided a terrorist organization are SMS messages and it would be "absurd to infer criminal acts from those records."
Albania Backtracks on IMEI Code Registration
Albania's government published its decision to drop moves to enforce registration of the phone code on Thursday in the Official Gazette.
It comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed by the opposition centre-right Democratic Party in the Constitutional Court.

SMS bully arrested for threatening woman's life via texts
A 35-year-old man was arrested in Thessaloniki on Saturday for allegedly threatening a womans life via text message.
The suspect was demanding 200 euros from the woman.
