Chinese and Serbian Ruling Parties Pledge ‘All-Time’ Friendship

The ruling parties in China and Serbia on Monday pledged to forge ever-closer links, as a Chinese Communist Party delegation in Belgrade met Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

Both sides hailed the strong relations between the two countries but also between the two ruling parties - the Chinese Communist Party and Serbian Progressive Party, SNS.

BIRN Film Charts Rise of Serbia's Ruling Party

A new film by BIRN Serbia, "SNS - pocetak, 2008" ["SNS - the start, 2008"], delves into the origins and rise of the Serbian Progressive Party, SNS, which has ruled the country since 2012.

During the making of the film, BIRN journalists talked with many  individuals from Serbian public life, but also from the US, who had a role in the creation of the SNS.

Vucic's SNS party elects new vice-presidents

The electoral assembly of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) met during the weekend in Belgrade and elected new vice-presidents to leader Aleksadar Vucic.

Vucic himself was again unanimously elected as the SNS president. Jorgovanka Tabakovic is a new vice president - "but her post will remain frozen as long as she is at the helm of the Serbian central bank (NBS)," Tanjug reported.

Pro-Russian SNP joins ruling SNS list for early elections

The presidency of the Serb People's Party (SNP) has decided to join the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) on their list for early parliamentary elections.

The party said that it wants to, in the wake of the voting and through Serbia's system institutions, contribute to the development of best political, economic, military, and all other relations with Russia.
