The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan will Open an Office in Bulgaria in May

In May of this year, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will open its office in Bulgaria. This is a sign of the serious intentions to deepen cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy. This was stated by President Rumen Radev after a video conference call with his colleague Ilham Aliyev, which took place in Baku, announced the press office of the head of state.

SOCAR signals potential cooperation with Turkish Petroleum in Black Sea

Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) could work together in field development and production of Turkey's giant gas discovery in the Black Sea, Vagif Aliyev, deputy chairman of SOCAR Turkey told reporters.

SOCAR has been investing and collaborating with Turkish Petroleum Corporation since 1994.

Azeri Natural Gas Starts Flowing to Bulgaria on 1 January 2021

From December 31, Bulgaria will start receiving natural gas from Azerbaijan. According to the signed contract between Bulgargaz and the Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR, 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be delivered to our country from the Shah Deniz 2 gas field for a period of 25 years, the government press office reported.

SOCAR AQS opens 40 wells in Turkey’s gas storage project

Azerbaijan's integrated drilling and oil services management company, SOCAR AQS, opened 40 wells to expand the storage capacity of the Salt Lake (Tuz Gölü) Natural Gas Storage Facility in central Anatolia, head of SOCAR AQS said on May 27.

Around $103 million will be invested for storage expansion at the Salt Lake facility, SOCAR AQS Director General Ramin Isayev told Anadolu Agency.
