YSK annuls opposition’s appeals for renewal of Istanbul district elections

Turkey's Supreme Election Council (YSK) on May 13 rejected appeals by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and İyi (Good) Party for annulment of the entire March 31 local elections in Istanbul, including districts of Turkey's biggest metropolis.

Romania's Social Democratic Party (PSD) says the announcement from the leader of the Party of European Socialists (PES) regarding PES freezing relations with PSD does not reflect "the overall position of the PES," adding that it is "looking forward" to finding out what issues worries PES.
