Chile: Bachelet Presents Bill for New Constitution Days Before Mandate Ends

SANTIAGO, Chile - President Michelle Bachelet, the outgoing Chilean leader leaving the office on March 11, fulfilled one of her electoral promises as she presented a bill for a new Constitution that will replace the current version that was drawn up during the Pinochet dictatorship.

Bulgarian Socialist Leader Elected Vice President of Socialist International

Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) chair Korneliya Ninova has been elected to the presidium of the Socialist International, her party says.

In a vote during the global body's meeting in Cartagena, Columbia, she has been picked by 150 delegates.

There are as many as 32 Vice Presidential seats in the presidium.

Albania's main opposition Democratic Party, PD, and Libra, a new party established by the former Socialist MP Ben Blushi, are turning to the internet to help them select the MPs that will run on their lists for the June 18 general elections.

PD spokeswoman Ina Zhupa told BIRN that in the first days of this online process the response had been very high.
