Midnight Afghan Melee Occurs in Bulgaria's Sofia City

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the abdomen in a fight between four Afghan citizens in Bulgaria's Sofia city center, Monday night.

Participants in the melee which occurred near Lion's Bridge in Sofia have all been detained, Bulgaria's BGNES reports. The victim has been taken to hospital, his life is out of danger.

Israel to Build University in Bulgaria's Pravets

Israel will begin the construction of a new university in Bulgaria's Pravets as an affiliate of an elite university in the city of Ariel.

The main focus will be on the Department of Local Government and Public Administration. The new institution will also offer courses in Law, Medicine and Humanities, Standart daily reports.

Bulgaria's Dogan Attacker Placed Under House Arrest

Bulgaria's Sofia Appellate Court placed Oktay Enimehmedov, the attacker of the honorary, lifetime Chairman of DPS Ahmed Dogan, under house arrest, Thursday.

On February 26, Enimehmedov was sentenced to a 3.6 years imprisonment by Sofia City Court. He was found guilty of death threat and acquitted of attempted murder.

Tori Amos To Perform in Sofia

The alternative rock singer Tori Amos will perform in Sofia, Bulgaria, on June 20. 

The concert in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) is part of her European tour presenting her most recent album, “Unrepentant Geraldines”, set for release in May.
