Record: Most Powerful Solar Flare Since 2017
The most powerful solar flare since 2017 has been registered so far. The sun has expelled a mass with values unseen for close to a decade, reports UPI. In less than 24 hours, the sun has unleashed three waves of X-class flares, the highest magnitude on the scale measuring the intensity of solar eruptions.

Astronomers Registered a New Powerful Solar Eruption
Another severe solar eruption with mark of X8,2 was recorded on Sunday evening. Reports Chronicle.
The X-ray Astronomy Laboratory of the Physics Institute "P. N. Lebedev "published a schedule of solar activity, according to which the eruption was from 18.35 am to 19.31 am on Sunday Moscow time. The peak of activity was at 19.06.
Two solar eruptions caused geomagnetic storm
As was announced by US National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), two solar eruptions occurred on Sunday causing a strong geomagnetic storm on Tuesday’s earth atmosphere that could disrupt electricity and telecommunications networks.
However, according to the announcement, no problems have been reported so far.

Earth survived near-miss from 2012 solar storm: NASA
Back in 2012, the Sun erupted with a powerful solar storm that just missed the Earth but was big enough to "knock modern civilization back to the 18th century," NASA said.
The extreme space weather that tore through Earth's orbit on July 23, 2012, was the most powerful in 150 years, according to a statement posted on the US space agency website Wednesday.
