Solingen arson attack

Victims of the 1993 Solingen arson attack, in which five Turks lost their lives in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia State, have been commemorated with an event attended by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Turkish envoy to Germany said racism is still a big threat in Germany on the 27th anniversary of a racist attack in Solingen which saw the killing of five members of a Turkish family.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Ali Kemal Aydın said the pain caused by the racist attack that ultimately killed five Turks including three children is still alive in the hearts of the Turkish community.

Turkey on May 29 remembered the victims of a 1993 racist arson attack in Germany which killed five girls and women of Turkish descent.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry has shared a message to remember the victims of the 1993 Solingen arson attack, one of the most violent neo-Nazi attacks targeting Turks in Germany, urging politicians and members of the press abroad to work to prevent similar attacks.
