China's foreign minister will visit North Korea this week, his office said April 30, becoming the highest-ranking Chinese official to travel there in years as Beijing moves to further improve ties with Pyongyang days after a landmark inter-Korean summit.

The leaders of North and South Korea agreed April 27 to pursue a permanent peace and the complete denuclearization of the divided peninsula, as they embraced after a historic summit laden with symbolism.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest, Kim Eun-joong talked, in an interview granted to AGERPRES, about the "invaluable opportunity" to accomplish denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula, to the benefit of the entire world.

The statement comes in the context of the upcoming North Korea - South Korea summit starting Friday.
