Greek-managed tanker hit by Houthis

A Liberia-flagged tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile in the Red Sea causing minor damage, but no casualties, British maritime security agencies said on Thursday.

According to Tradewinds, the vessel is Greek-managed.

The incident occurred about 73 nautical miles (135 kilometers) southwest of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, security firm Ambrey said.

'ISIL' rocket fired from Egypt hits Israel, crossing shut

A rocket fired from Egypt's Sinai crashed into Israel on April 10, in an attack claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), as authorities closed a border crossing over security threats, officials said.

The incident, which did not cause injuries or major damage, came only hours before the start of the week-long Jewish Passover holiday at sundown.

British airlines cancel more Sharm el-Sheikh flights

A string of British airlines have again delayed the resumption of regular flights to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh following a plane crash earlier this year.

The airlines first suspended flights after the crash of a Russian airliner near the Red Sea holiday destination on Oct. 31 in which all 224 people on board died.

The Islamic State (IS) group said on Wednesday that a homemade bomb had brought down the Russian Airbus A321 in Egypt in October, Reuters reported.

The English-language Dabiq magazine of the jhihadist organization published a photo of a Schweppes soft drink can and "what appeared to be a detonator and switch", the newswire said.

Russian Security Service (FSB) head Alexander Bortnikov said that the explosion of a homemade bomb of up to 1kg of TNT equivalent was the cause of the crash of the Kogalymavia flight 9268 A321 airbus over Sinai, Egypt, while en route from Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg on October 31.
