Bosnians' Illegal Weapons Endanger its Security

Bosnians possess a worrying quantity of firearms, which potentially pose a threat to the country's security, a Bosnian arms expert told BIRN on Tuesday.

"There are at least 750,000 illegal firearms in Bosnia ... which basically means that statistically at least 20 per cent of Bosnian residents are armed," Armin Krzalic, director of the Center for Security Studies in Sarajevo, said.

Abu Hamza May Sue Bosnia Over Years in Detention

The Syrian citizen Imad Al-Husin better known as Abu Hamza on Thursday told the TV network Aljazeera Balkans that he may file a lawsuit against the Bosnian authorities for keeping him for more than seven years in detention, on suspicion that he represented a threat to national security.

"I challenge the Bosnian authorities to hold a fair trial," Al-Husin told Aljazeera.

Bosnian Croats, Serbs Unite Against Foreign Judges

Bosnian Croat parties have joined their counterparts in the country's Serb-led entity Republika Srpksa in calling for the immediate reform of the Constitutional Court.

They are calling for the three foreign judges on the nine-member court to be removed permanently, saying that it gives the international community too much influence over constitutional rulings.
