License plates returned for Aug 15 holday

As of Friday, drivers who have had their license plates confiscated by police for minor offenses can reclaim them ahead of the August 15 national holiday, traditionally when Greeks set off for their summer vacations, many traveling large distances by road.

Motorists can retrieve their license plates after paying the corresponding fine.

Over 2,800 petty crimes, rd 22,000 fines, over 1,300 drivers' licenses lifted on Easter holiday

More than 2,800 petty crimes were registered by the police during the Easter holiday, with about 22,000 fines and 1,324 drivers' licenses lifted, on Monday informs the Romanian Police General Inspectorate (IGPR) in a release.

Eleven people killed on Attica roads in February

Eleven people were killed in 11 road accidents in February in Attica, according to figures made public by the Traffic Police on Thursday.

During the same period, 438 people were injured in 369 accidents. Of those, 14 were seriously injured.

According to a police statement, the cause of most of the accidents was careless driving or violation of the highway code.

More than 300,000 Cars are on the Roads from Sofia to the Province for the Holidays

Increased pre-holiday traffic is expected today on the Hemus and Trakia highways, at the exits of Sofia, as well as on the E-79 international road, bTV reports.

According to Road Traffic Police,  300,000 vehicles are on the move just from the capital to different parts of the country.

'Stalin Breaks Speed Limit Giving Jesus a Lift'

A traffic camera in Russia's Volgograd Region snapped a picture of a speeding car driven by a man who resembled the late Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, with a person resembling Jesus sitting in the passenger's seat.

A Russian man posted a photo sent to him by the Volgograd Region traffic police online, which allegedly depicted his car breaking the speed limit.
