Oregon national guardsman Alek Skarlatos will reportedly join the new season of “Dancing With the Stars,” the US ABC announced Wednesday.

Skarlatos, the last celebrity to be announced, was one of three Americans to neutralize a suspected terrorist on a Paris-bound train last month.

French President Francois Hollande on Aug. 24 awarded France's highest honour, the Legion d'honneur, to three U.S. citizens and a Briton who helped disarm a machine gun-toting suspected Islamist militant on a train last week. 

The award came a day after it was revealed that one of the Americans, Spencer Stone, also appeared to have saved the life of a fellow passenger. 

A day ago he was just another tourist on a train. On Aug 22, U.S. Airman First Class Spencer Stone was treated for knife wounds in a hospital in France and applauded by world leaders for foiling what officials called an attempted terrorist attack. 

US President has Barack Obama praised the heroism of three Americans, including a Greek-American serviceman from Oregon, who subdued a gunman on a high-speed train speeding from Amsterdam to Paris on Friday.
The Moroccan suspect was beaten unconscious by passengers on the train, but not before injuring one man severely.

French investigators were on Aug. 22 interrogating a man who was overpowered by three young Americans after he opened fire with a Kalashnikov on a train between Amsterdam and Paris.
