Baby squirrels adopted by forest staff

Six baby squirrels found in the trunk of a tree that was cut down because it was dying in the Black Sea province of Kastamonu were adopted by the local Nature Protection staff.

A farmer living in Kastamonu's Hanönü district found the baby squirrels sleeping in the trunk all lined up next to each other when he was cutting the dried cherry tree in his garden.

Baby red squirrel released back into nature after treatment

A baby red squirrel, which was found and delivered to officials by children four days ago in the northeastern province of Kars, was released back into nature after receiving treatment on May 12, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The baby squirrel was named "Ormancı" (Forester) by officials from the National Parks and Nature Conservation's branch in Kars who treated animal.  

Baby red squirrel found in Turkey's east

A baby red squirrel was found and later taken under treatment in the eastern province of Kars, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on May 10.

A group of children found the baby squirrel in an immobile state while they were playing in Kars' İnönü neighborhood.

The children then took the animal to the National Parks and Nature Conservation's branch in Kars.
