The Bosnian state court rejected a request for the retrial of Mendeljev Djuric, who was sentenced to 28 years in prison for assisting the commission of genocide in Srebrenica.

The mass murders of Bosniaks from Srebrenica were committed as a result of a “command from the top”, the genocide trial of former Serb fighter Aleksandar Cvetkovic was told.

A Bosnian Serb prosecution witness recalled on Monday seeing women and children bussed from the Srebrenica area in July 1995 as he testified in the trial of ex-police chief Goran Saric, who is charged in connection with genocide there.

A protected witness told the genocide trial of former Serb fighters Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic that he gave false testimony because he was threatened by Bosnian investigators.

Bosnian police arrested Milenko Trifunovic, who is currently awaiting his sentence for genocide in Srebrenica in 1995, on suspicion of illicit trafficking in arms and other military equipment.

Aleksandar Cvetkovic, who is on trial for genocide, was one of eight soldiers selected to join a firing squad and shoot Bosniaks from Srebrenica, said another fighter who participated in the killing.

Two prosecution witnesses told the trial of ex-police chief Goran Saric for genocide in Srebrenica that they didn’t see him in July 1995 in the Bratunac area where many Bosniak prisoners were killed.

At the trial of two Bosnian Serb soldiers for the Srebrenica genocide, a prosecution witness said that he saw many dead bodies laid out at the Petkovci dam near Zvornik in July 1995.
